Parkland dreaming

vintage top MY CUP OF TEA VINTAGE

I`ve been working hard on launching my online shop and it`s finally up and running! Take a look HERE! As a result I haven`t had much time to enjoy the lovely weather and that`s why I look a bit dreamy in these photos - it was impossible to get any good ones where I looked at the camera because I looked too tired. Although I`m tired I am extremely happy to have made a dream come true and I`m going to work hard to sustain it and make it successful! So please excuse my lack of posting! I promise more frequent blog updates from now on! I hope you are well and that your summer holiday dreams have been fulfilled!

The top I`m wearing in the photos is now for sale in my shop HERE!

Desert Vintage

vintage dress - DESERT VINTAGE

No, it`s not a name I invented for wearing vintage in the desert. Desert Vintage is an actual shop in Tucson and I got to know the owners whilst travelling through Arizona. We made a pit stop in Tucson and stumbled upon Desert Vintage (or actually the lime coloured house which contains the shop is hard to miss) where we got chatting to the owners Salima and Roberto who are the sweetest people. They invited us out that same evening and we ended up staying almost three days there and spending alot of time with Roberto and Salima. They showed us what Tucson is all about - live music, art, fashion, friends and fun - being yourself and following your dreams.

The Californian desert has me enchanted. I just want to go back to hang out with all the lovely people we met in the weird and wonderful places we visited. I promise you will see some photos on here soon that are not from the desert. So stay with me....

I climb mountains in chiffon dresses

dress - MY CUP OF TEA VINTAGE

I love frolicking around in flowy dresses, and shooting in this California desert for My Cup Of Tea Vintage was incredible - almost like being in a different world - massive stones forming small mountains creating spectacular organic shapes. The sheer dress moving with the wind created a beautiful contrast to the stone wall in the background. But you should have seen the view of the desert in front of me - amazing!

Backstage snaps from photoshoot with My Cup Of Tea Vintage

Yesterday we had a photoshoot in a beautiful house that we were lucky enough to borrow to shoot in. I styled the shoot using clothing from My Cup Of Tea Vintage. I love working with vintage clothes, but I have another shoot coming up where I`m going to use alot of new clothes in the styling which is going to be fun. You know, I`m not completely stuck in the past... Have a lovely sunday!

Silk floral skirt

( VINTAGE SILK SKIRT, WAREHOUSE BAG, H&M BLAZER, T-SHIRT & NECLACE, DIN SKO LOAFERS )

These pictures were taken with my Iphone. I spent the morning walking around town stopping for coffee at one of my favourite coffee houses. But to get there I had to walk by the crime scene for the first time, a route I often used to walk but one I have avoided since the terror attack, and seeing all the damages was devestating. Tonight my thoughts go out to all friends in London who at this very moment have the riots right on their doorstep.

The Vintage Emporium & Coffee House

( TOPSHOP HIGH WAISTED JEANS, H&M BLAZER, VINTAGE BLOUSE & BELT, GINA TRICOT RING )

The Vintage Emporium is located on 14 Bacon Street just off Brick Lane in London. The cafe is quaint, filled with antique furniture and trinquets and the coffee is amazing. However, as cute as the cafè might be, the real gem is hidden in the basement. Downstairs is the most unique vintage shop I have ever seen, stocked mostly with original 20s silk sequin dresses and victorian clothing and accessories. They also stock some menswear and a small selection of childrens clothing and shoes. It`s definitely worth visiting if you are in London! www.vintageemporiumcafe.com

Asphalt Phoenix

Make up and hair by Maria Hiller Hanssen
Model Kristin Blakstad
Styling by myself

Here are the pictures from the photoshoot I styled for My Cup Of Tea Vintage a little while back. The inspiration for this shoot was an image of a strong bird with bright colours that stands out from its surroundings. All clothes from My  Cup Of Tea Vintage, except from the leggings and bathing suit. I loved collaborating with these girls, we had alot of fun shooting! I`m doing another shoot with Erica and Maria soon, can`t wait to do it all over again!

Loafing out and about

( VINTAGE BELT\ 60s LACE DRESS, WAREHOUSE BAG, DIN SKO LEATHER LOAFERS, H&M\ GINA TRICOT\ VINTAGE RINGS )

Pictures by Gavin Wright

Yes, it`s a dress repeat but I thought it looked so good with my new loafers... You might remember seeing it HERE?  I obsess with platforms but hardly ever buy them because flats are the only shoes that get me about town. The weather is grey but hot, so lazy loafing in my loafers suits me just perfectly...

Vintage treasures

I`ve got all of these vintage gems hanging in my living room at the moment. I`m pulling looks for a photoshoot collaboration between My Cup Of Tea Vintage and a photographer friend. I won`t tell you wich items will be included, but I`ll tell you that I`ve got alot more vintage clothing than what you can see in this picture.. Most of it I`ve collected over the years, and some is for My Cup Of Tea Vintage. My collection have grown too big now, so I`m going to have to start selling some of the clothes to regain space, not only in my warderobe, but also in my appartement that have been taken over by garments.....

Happy May 17th to all Norwegians!

( PRIMARK FLATS AND COCKTAIL RING, MARC BY MARC JACOBS BAG, VINTAGE ACCORDION DRESS, H&M NECKLACE )

It`s the national day in Norway today, celebrating the independence from our union with Sweden. It`s a custom to dress up, and although many people wear national costumes today we don`t have a tradition for that in my family because of my English heritage so instead I chose this flowy accordion dress for the occasion. Watching all the marching bands in the parade re-ignited my lust for a marching dress jacket. It would look great paired with ditsy floral dresses this summer..

It`s a tradition to have ice cream and I`m not difficult to persuade...

Happy May 17th to all Norwegians! Hope you`ve had a lovely day so far! I`d love it if you left my a comment and told me what you`ve been up to today, even if you`re not in Norway! xx

Pink love

( INDISKA BELT, MONKI SKIRT, H&M TOP AND NECKLACE )

I just want to start off by saying I`m not miserable in this picture even though I look like i am! But it was the best one of my face (not my most photogenic day). Now, I bought this skirt yesterday and I`m in love with it already! The vibrant colour works wonderfully with my ethnic accessories. I have been wondering about how to best combine my love for ethnic and vintage with modern clothes without going for the boho\grunge look that everybody is into these days. I think I`m on to something....

Tonight I`m going to a big 80s birthday party, so I`m off now to complete my outfit and crimp my hair. Have a great saturday! xx

Tie your belt in a knot and tie the outfit together

(FOREVER21 DRESS, VINTAGE BELT AND JACKET, WAREHOUSE BAG, PRIMARK OXFORDS)

My friend took these pictures of me in one minute before I had to rush off to the hairdresser (thank you Bente!). It waswindy and very sunny, but I was too stressed to think about putting on my sunglasses. Soooo, I`m squinting in the photos again. I really needed to colour my roots, and I also decided to go for a lighter red and I`m very pleased with the result! Hopefully I`ll get some help to take a few pictures of it tomorrow. Have a nice evening!
